Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Tolustar ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the Bible Topics mobile app, our public website, and related services.
Bible Topics is a Bible study app that offers topic-based verse browsing, verse images, quiz features, Bible facts, reminders, favourites, journals, and optional account-based sync.
Information We Collect
The information we process depends on how you use the app.
- Account and identity information: If you create or use an account, we may process your name, email address, sign-in provider details, profile image, and account identifiers.
- App content and activity: We may process your favourites, journals or notes, quiz progress, settings, sync status, notification preferences, and related timestamps needed to provide the service.
- Device and app diagnostics: We may process device model, operating system, app version, crash data, performance data, and technical logs to maintain and improve the app.
- Notification and installation data: If you enable notifications, we may process device or push-token information needed to send reminders or app messages.
- Website usage data: Our public website may collect basic server and technical request information needed to operate and secure the site.
How We Collect Information
- Directly from you when you create an account, save favourites, write notes, change settings, or contact us.
- From sign-in providers such as Google or Apple when you choose those login methods.
- Automatically from the app and supporting services for security, diagnostics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and notification delivery.
- From local on-device storage used to support offline reading, reminders, and app preferences.
How We Use Information
- To provide the Bible Topics experience and account features.
- To sync supported account data across devices when you sign in.
- To save your preferences, quiz progress, favourites, and journals.
- To send daily reminders, push notifications, or service-related messages when you enable them.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, and security issues.
- To troubleshoot errors, monitor app health, and improve stability and performance.
- To respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we generally rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
How Data Is Stored
Bible Topics uses a combination of on-device storage and server-side services. Some data is stored locally on your device to support offline use. Account-related and sync-related data may be stored on our backend services. Technical and diagnostic information may also be processed by service providers that help us operate, secure, and improve the app.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers to support app functionality. These may include:
- Firebase / Google: authentication, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Sentry: application error monitoring and performance diagnostics. See Sentry Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution, store listing management, and related platform services. See Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
Notifications
If you enable reminders or push notifications, we may use local device scheduling and supported notification providers to deliver daily verses, account-related messages, or other app notifications. You can control most notification permissions through your device settings.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain account features, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations. Some information also remains on your device until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
We review deletion and privacy requests manually. If you ask us to delete account-related information, we may retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance. Account records may first enter a recoverable deletion state before final permanent purge is completed.
Account Deletion Requests
If you want Bible Topics to delete your account and associated account-linked data, use our public Account Deletion Request page. That page explains the request steps, identity-verification process, the types of data we normally delete, and the limited categories of information we may retain.
International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including countries where our hosting and service providers operate. When required, we rely on appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards for such processing.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of certain personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, contact bibletopicsapp@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before we complete certain requests.
Children's Privacy
Bible Topics is intended for a general audience and is not marketed as a child-directed app. If you believe a child has provided us personal information in a way that requires parental action, contact bibletopicsapp@gmail.com and we will review the request.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
